interview.jpgLets Get To Know Each Other!

To us at Score the purpose of the interview is for both of us to ask questions and learn more about the other. The goal is not to "win" the job; the goal is to assess the possibility of a good fit. At Score, a successful interview may simply be that the candidate and/or Score determines that the position is not a good fit.

The interview style is casual and informal. A good choice of attire would be relaxed business casual. In most cases, multiple members of the team are involved in meeting the candidate and asking, as well as answering, questions.

In the interviewing process, Score has three main criteria for determining a good fit.

  • Getting along with others:
The number one and most important assessment criteria in our opinion is the ability for the individual to mesh with our present team, vendors, and customers. This assessment is not a casual indication of an individual being likable; rather it is more an assessment on the candidate's professionalism, ability and drive to participate at an equal level with the rest of the team. We have an extremely strong, competent team of hardworking, well-educated individuals. It is our goal to find a individuals who adds to this team, not one who rides it.
  • Willingness to do the job: Our staff is committed to making sure the work is done, done well, and done on time. We do what it takes to follow through on all of our commitments. We believe in a work/life balance with the understanding that at times we may have to give up some of our precious personal time in order to help a customer. We believe in flexible schedules where employees are rewarded with time for time when required.
  • Ability to do the job: Our last criteria will be to assess the candidate's present abilities and how those match the requirements of the position. We believe that all candidates will need to grow in abilities to be successful in todays world. As a result we will be more interested the candidates abilities and willingness to continuously grow their abilities.

We engage in behavioral-based interviewing which means having the candidate describe concrete examples of their skills, talents, and abilities. We want to know how you handled a situation in the past, not a story of how you might handle something in the future. As an example, everyone can say "I am hard-working and here's what I would do...."; that's great, but doesn't tell us much. Rather we want to hear your stories of how you actually demonstrated the skill at hand.

There is a map on the website to our location on the fishing hole page; if you are invited for an interview please do not hesitate to contact us ahead of time with any questions or arrangements that you may need. We're on a major bus route with express service and there is ample free parking around the building.
